Sarath Mammootty together! Sarath Kumar’s first film in Malayalam is Pazhassi Raja

Sarath Kumar’s first film in Malayalam is Pazhassi Raja. It is a historical film with Mammootty playing the title role of Pazhassi Raja, the brave and daring warrior prince from Wyanad in North Kerala who was the first to take on the British.

Sarath plays Pazhassi Raja’s trusted commander-in- chief (Dalapathy) and is said to have a very interesting role. The film is written and scripted by M.T Vasudevan Nair, One of Malayalam’s best known writers who has written many successful films and the director is the veteran Hariharan, one of the best directors in Malayalam cinema.

The star cast has actors like Manoj.K.Jayan, Nedumudi Venu, Kalabhavan Mani, Padmapriya and a top actress from Bollywood who will play the heroine, along with Linda. Venu, the cameraman plans to shoot the film with a panavision camera, which they are specially getting from US. The lyrics of O.N.V Kurup are being tuned by the maestro Ilayaraja. The shooting of the film starts in Kannur from April 18.

Sarath Kumar said:” It is an honour to be a part of Pazhassi Raja. The real heros of the film are M.T Vasudevan Nair who is one of the finest script writers and award winning director Hariharan. It is a coincidence that, Mammootty did his first Tamil film Mounam Samatham with me and now I am doing my first Malayalam film with him!” Sarath Kumar believes that Pazhassi Raja is going to be a landmark film and will create history.
