Missing actress Preethi Varma appeared at the Egmore court amidst police protection. Actress Preethi Varma explained in court about the reasons behind her disappearance. Preethi Varma said she went with her friend Arun from Rajahmundry to Mumbai and from there, she escaped without his knowledge and went to stay with a friend.
Preethi Varma parents and 2 younger brothers had come to see her. Preethi Varma did not look in their direction and refused to meet them too. Preethi said she had no intention of going back to her parents who were forcing her into the sex trade. On hearing this, her mother sobbed loudly and everyone present felt moved by it except Preethi.
Preethi Varma made it clear in court that she was not married, and that she would definitely finish all the films she had started working in.
Preethi Varma’s parents said they did not care if they were arrested but they wanted to meet their daughter, but she refused to even glance at them. There must be more to the animosity than meets the eye.
