Dasavatharam goes to Kalaignar TV!
After grabbing the television rights of Shivaji, Kalaignar TV has now bagged the rights of Kamal Hassan’s much awaited movie Dasavadaram.
In recent days both Kalaignar and Sun TV are in the race of buying the rights of new Tamil movies. As it is expected it was Kalaignar TV that wins at last.
It is said that Kalaignar TV had paid 6 crore rupees for Shivaji. Sources tell that Dasavadharam has been bought for more the price given for Shivaji creating a new record. The buzz is that the heat from Kalaignar TV was a bit too much for ‘Oscar’ Ravichandran, who finally sold the television rights to them for Rs One Lakh more than what they paid for Sivaji!
Apart from these movies Kalaignar TV also has the right of Marudamalai with Arjun in the lead.
It is also said that the rights of more than 100 movies of AVM are now with Kalaignar TV. Now more alarming would be if Kalaignar TV also puts pressure on the producers of the films they have the rights, not to give clippings to the Sun TV! This means they don’t get clippings for their song and other film based programmes, something which Sun TV itself did to others a few weeks back!
