“Chennai-600028″ 100 days Celebration

Chennai-600028, one of the real offbeat and entertaining movies in recent times, was all about friendship.
The 100th day celebration of ‘Chennai 600028′ took place at the Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, Chennai on 5th August. The function commenced with a welcome speech by SP Balasubramanian and Gangai Amaran sang the prayer song.
The film’s producers SPB Charan (Capital Film Works), JK Saravana (Tantra Films, Singapore) and director Venkat Prabhu are bosom buddies, and the film’s essential storyline was about camaraderie fused over cricket and locational closeness.
The two pillars of Tamil cinema, Rajini and Kamal made a sudden appearance to the shock and surprise of many of those present at the venue.
The success meet is being organized on Friendship Day. Quite appropriately, “I am today sharing the stage with my friend Kamal Haasanâ€, Rajni pointed out.
The superstar started talking amidst thunderous applause. Speaking at the function the superstar stressed on the importance of friendship. He said that,†A few years ago, I was approached to do the Tamil remake of Hindi hit Lagaan, which was about cricket. We even searched for a director in Tamil to do the movie. Unfortunately the project did not take offâ€.
“All credit to Venkat Prabhu, who has rendered a hit in Chennai 600028, which is all about cricket. The success should have made his parents proudâ€, he said.
On the friendship between Charan and Venkat Prabhu, Rajnikanth said, “They should stay united as they are now forever. Every man needs a good friend in his lifeâ€.
It’s a long time since I lost interest in cricket. This will be considered an unpatriotic remark. After seeing this film, my interest in cricket has come back. This will be happy news for SP Balasubramanian and Gangai Amaran, but you must seek fresh victories,” said Kamal.
