British students making documentary on Rajnikant

Four students from the UK Max Moritmer, Ellie Knightsbridge, Rob Streeter and Jayanthi all from London-based UK University, are also excited about a Rajnikanth film. But it is not Sivaji. Instead it is the one they are set to make. It is a 10 minute documentary n the superstar, Me and Rajnikanth, that will especially focus on his style, mannerisms and fans.

The crew, which dropped in Chennai for a few days, is busy giving final touches to the short film in the editing suite. Speaking to News Today, Jayanthi, an ardent fan of Rajnikanth’s style and mannerisms said, ‘it is a dream come true for us to do a documentary on such a personality. He has been always a person to be admired. His fan following being right from Tamilnadu to Japan, made my friends back in UK feel amazed. And it was inevitable from then for us to decide on doing a documentary on Rajnikanth’.

Often choosing to play a working class hero, he has around 27,000 different fan clubs and associations. ‘We have taken interviews of Rajnikanth’s fans, wherein they show their blind love and passion for their star. The film will be a very sweet and a heart-warming portrayal of the cinema obsession in Tamilnadu’, she adds.

The four member crew, Rob Streeter - camera, Max Mortimer - sound, Ellie Knightsbridge - producer and Jayanthi - director, are eager to meet the star and are keeping their fingers crossed as they have only a few days to wrap up the post production and get back home. Source: NewsToday
