Actor Sarath Kumar resigns
Actor Sarath Kumar has resigned as the head of the ‘South Indian actors sangam’
Initially the ‘Sangam’ head was Vijaykanth.As soon as he started his political party he resigned from the head position. After this Serath Kumar was elected with out any competation after an election process.
Last August 31st 2007 he has started a political party called “Agila India Samathuva Makkal Katchi”. Hence he has decided to resign his the head position in the sangam. He has sent a resignation letter to the commitee stating that he should be relieved from the position of head of the sangam since he has started his own political party. The decision to accept his resignation is going to take place on September 9th 2007 at an emergency meeting of the comittee members.
In his press conference Sarath Kumar has stated : “I am currently acting in the movie ‘Naamnadu’. This movie has the political motivation that the country needs. The song ‘Vangaiya Vathiyaraiah’ from the ‘Naamnadu’ movie by M.G.R has been remixed in this movie. Now I am acting in 7 movies. Since I started the political party, I’ll soon decide on my position as the sangam head. Rajinikanth wished me after I started the party”.
