Shivaji postponed againÂ

The release date of Superstar Rajinikanth’s magnum opus Shivaji is postponed again to May 26. This time, it is due to the pending background music to be composed by music director A.R.Rahman. Moreover, graphics work for a few scenes are left undone.

Though the movie has been produced in a grand manner, the director has taken lots of time in post production stage, which is almost equal to the time he spent for its shooting. Initially, the film was scheduled for release on Tamil New Year Day on April 14. Shankar couldn’t complete its shooting on time. So, producer AVM Saravanan announced that it would be released on May 17 without fail. But the truth is that post production works are still going on and A.R.Rahman is yet to complete a major segment of its background score.

Sources from AVM revealed that Shankar is willing to release the film on June 8. However, the producer has pressurised him to release it on May 26. The bad news is that pundits in Kollywood are expecting change in its release date. This bilingual film starring actress Shreya opposite Rajini will be released simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu.

Shivaji - Happens 100th Tamil Film for Rajini !!!!

The much-awaited Sivaji is nearing its release. In the next few days, the magnum opus from the AVM stable will hit the screens. Rumors are doing rounds that Sivaji might see the light of the day on 26 May.The major highlight of Sivaji is that it is Rajinikanth’s 100th straight film in Tamil. Rajinikanth has so far acted in a total of 173 films including remakes and dubbings. Sivaji will be his 100th straight film in Tamil.With big names like Shankar, A R Rahman and K V Anand coming together, no doubt expectations are high on Sivaji. Being 100th film of Rajinikanth in Tamil, his fans do expect a lot of fireworks in the movie.

Shivaji with 900 prints!

Superstar Rajnikanth’s magnum opus Shivaji never goes short of news. It is always in the news for one reason or the other. Now, reliable sources has revealed that it would be released in India with 900 prints and the total prints would go up to 1200 if prints for overseas release are included. Actress Shreya plays Rajini’s heroine in this Shankar film.

The film has been in the making since 2005 and is shot in almost five countries including the US and Spain. The Kollywood pundits have revealed that its cost of production might have crossed Rs.50 crores. Production house AVM has not revealed the amount they have got from the Tamilnadu rights of Shivaji but news is doing the rounds that it has been sold for Rs.70 crores to Gemini Labs. It has been sold for Rs.8.5 crores in Andhra and Rs.2.8 crores in Kerala. The film is said to have been sold for Rs.15 crores in Karnataka but the production house has not revealed the exact figure.

It is said that the overseas rights of the film has touched a new mark. More than five distributors are said to have bought it for release worldwide apart from Ayngaran International. Sources close to AVM has revealed that it would come out with 900 prints for release in India alone. The number would go up to 1200 if the prints for overseas release are included.
