Movie Review - Azhagiya Tamil Magan
ATM story sees Ilayathalapathy Vijay is seen in a dual role with a towering performance, never seen before. Leave your logical mind at home, crank up that sense of humour, and it’s a roller coaster ride of pure unadulterated masala.
The story of Azhagiya Thamizh Magan goes like this - Guru (Vijay) is an ace sprinter and business management student, who lives with his friends in a house owned by former sex- bomb Shakeela (Shakeela in a cameo). One day he meets Abhinaya (Shreya), a rich girl and daughter of a business baron (Ashish Vidyarti) who slowly falls in love with him. After some convincing, both the parents agree for their marriage.
Suddenly Guru starts seeing things that are going to happen in the immediate future. A psychiatrist (played by Dr. Rudran, a professional psychiatrist) confirms that it is ESP power and says that the images visualized by Guru would actually happen sooner or later.Just before Guru and Abhi are to be engaged, Guru gets a very disturbing ESP, of him killing Abhinaya. A shattered Guru distances himself from Abhi and goes away to Mumbai.
Meanwhile, Prasad (Vijay),a spitting image of Guru, is a financier and loan shark in Mumbai and Guru stumbles upon him. This gives him a different meaning of the horrible incident visualized by him. Before catching the man, Guru gets into an accident and the new man moves to Chennai. Abhi mistakes him for Guru and Prasad, a mercenary makes merry with Abhi and soon gets engaged to her. Meanwhile Guru sensing trouble, comes back to Chennai to save his lady love, which leads to the final twist in the climax.
A.R. Rahman’s music in Azhagia Tamil Magan is outstanding. In fact that songs sound better when heard – and seen – in the movie. ‘Maduraiku Pokaathey’ and ‘Valaiyapatti’ are quite attractive. The remix version is more convincing when seen in the context.
The script is intresting as the director has come up with a new idea in form of ESP to provide twist in the tale.Vijay has a terrific comic timing, his ability to mock and lampoon makes his performance absolutely knockout. In the negative character Prasad’s role he is the veritable scene stealer.
The first half of Azhagia Tamizh Magan drags a bit. Only if a few scenes had been cut out, the movie would have been better. Over all a very good entertainer and a treat for Ilayathalapathi fans.

Guys, Gals and Vijay fans. I watched the movie yesterday in here Sunnyvale, CA, USA with all of my friends. I dia mistake: I booked for the last late night show! Please don’t do this to yourself!
The ONE line review for the movie is “ ENNA KOODUMAI SIR ITHU “.
Exactly the movie was like that. Few things that i want to share about the movie here :
1. It was a lengthy movie and first half was like a never ending section.
2. Namitha was better than Shriya, so called Heroine of the movie. Director spend more time not to focus on Shriya dialogue delivery not to be framed expect the famous ” JUST GET OUT OF HERE “. So don’t get panic, if Shriya get a national award for this movie!
3. Vijay spend more time on makeup rather than performance. He is trying again with his innocence comedy on complete movie. There is no body language difference between Good Vijay and Bad Vijay. Vijay once again proved two things: He can dance very well & Again its a Telugu kind of movie.
4. On climax, Shriya speaks a full page of dialogue and that changes the bad Illayathalapathy Vijay in a second. And vijay speaks just a two line at the end. How come this ia Vijay movie?
5. Whats the relation of the movie tile and the movie? Just to relate with somehow they have a award giving function for college student Vijay.
6. On the climax scene, I couldn’t hear what Shriya was telling! The audience got bored and started to make funny sounds when she started to preach! Oh my god.. is there anything left on Shriya like acting?
I request Illayathalapathy Vijay to treat with one of his old golden hit kind of movie again.
Vijay Should take acting lessons. Smiling and dancing does not make you a good actor. Did anyone feel if both the vijay’s were two different characters? It looked like the same personality in different clothes. Now if you have seen Vali, then you should know how dual roles should be played. Seriously don’t waste your time on something that has no logic.
vijay u can never act,this is universal truth,better remake a telugu movie,and ur fans luv that only,all dual and triple roles canot be done perfectly like kamal n ajith,u need acting skills,NO DANCERS HAVE EVER BECOME SUPERSTARS,TRY TO ACT,POLADAVAN IS BETTER.

“Yevalavo panrom itha panna pannamatoma” nnu PADAM poora sonaru oru PADA HERO.What is the meaning of that PUNCH dialogue in that film was not known to anybody till the End of the movie.We got to know at the end of the movie .
Yevalavo Telugu PADAM remake panni irukom, innumoru TAMIL PADAM VAALI and 100 aavathu NAAL konjam serthu remake pannamatoma is the meaning of the Ilayathalapthy’s ATM.
Actually Newspapers published that it is Double role of Vijay, We cant identify double role in any scene till the end. Both character had Same getups and mannerisms and acting style except the introduction scene of second Vijay, where in he tried to show the change.
To Be frank Illayathalapathy Vijay is not the right person to act In a double role, who doesnt even know show the variation in any means in the character or styles.
Ok We can talk about the Story
Vijay is an MBA student who carries the same yellow colour book all the time.He loves Shreya in a usual way and wins her and her fathers heart and his own family also accepts.
Then he gets and ESP not any signals it is just Extra Sensory Perception that he gets to know some things of future before it happens. As we are clever and we all have seen Manivannan’s 100 aavathu NAAL film before 20 years is the actual theme of this film. If the same theme have been directed well, it would have made wonders But those ESP make him to identify that he is going to kill Shreya, PAVAM antha ponnu enna PAVAM panucho. So he goes to Mumbai thinking of going away from her. There is a great thing happens is he meets his twin who mixesup the mannerisms of three ” Kudyiruntha kovil MGR Alavandan Kamal and our own REMO”.Not to much mixup in acting because World Knows that vijay don’t know to ACT except dancing and some stereotyped comedy which any hero makes nowadays (inclusive of Vadivelu as hero In IMSAI also, even he fits for a good hero nowadays).
But we have to praise Vijay for those mannerisms, VERY NEW NEW
to the WORLD CINEMA. After the interchange between the Dual happens,how he protects his Lady love is the remaining story which makes all of us to make us remember VAALI movie in the end.
There are some scenes where you can get yourself hanged in this film is MOKKAI KAVIDHAI MELA by second vijay.
To identify which vijay is true Vijay they conduct two beautiful test Test No1 : Signature test,WOW wat a creative thinking by actor.Test No2 : Running race between the two , just miss we thought of running out of theatre, doors were locked.
The masterpiece in this film is direction which makes us enjoy our MARATHADI SLEEP.
The real part to enjoy in this film TRULY is the opening song where in he really dances well, but doesn’t have any relation with Wonderful song’s lyrics where he doesn’t show any relevant reactions for those wonderful lyrics instead show teeth and concentrate for those unrelevant dance sequences.
PON MAGAL vandal was totally wasted in PICTURISATION and came in an unrelevant time of the movie.
But none in the duals will die in the End , because his fans wont accept him dying.
I think in this film SANTHANAM wears good dresses than ILLAYATHALAY Wat a colour selection.He have beatenup the Olden days Telugu heroes .
We have to congratulate Namitha and Shakila for their TOTALLY BIG contributiuons in this film.
Vijay cant go out of his usual trends because he know his film wont run if he goes , so we can expect for a good movie from Dharani and a wonderful actor VIJAY.
To be true He have to change his attitude because he have more fans and have more expectations from him. To be TRUE enough his hit list is ONLY A REMAKE FROM other LANGUAGEs
He should not go with REMAKE films or old Stereo typed stories

People are running crazy who bought the priate DVD, CD of this movie! They are feelings its a complete waste of their money by buying the priate! But thank god that they are blessed not to see the movie in big screen!
Oooooooooppppssss….. never seen a movie as bad as this one….anyone planning to watch a movie, my kind advice, dont waste money from ur ATMs for watching ATM…. u can watch either VEL or POLLADAVAN…. much better… Mr. Vijay, u suck… didnt expect such a bad performance from u..
