Kamal Haasan’s magnum opus Dasavatharam is in the news for a number of reasons. One of them, the grand background score, scored by hit Telugu and Tamil composer Devisri Prasad, which the film’s makers say is truly international.

The title track of Telugu film Rakhi is one of music director Devisri Prasad’s superhit compositions. Three days to go for the release of Kamal Haasan’s magnum opus Dasavatharam, Devi is on the threshold of a much bigger success story, with his background score in the film.

“As for the feel of the film, Kamal Sir said he wanted a Hollywood kind of style. That kind of orchestration,” says Devisri Prasad, music composer of the movie.

Devi says the score is his tribute as a fan of his hero, Kamal Haasan. “After seeing the second half, he shook my hand. I was holding my heart till he did that because I was very tense how he would react. When he did that, it was like getting an Oscar,” says Prasad.

Dasavatharam will be as much a test for Himesh Reshamaiyaa who has composed the songs in the film, in his first foray south of the Vindhyas. Source: ndtvmusic.com
