I do not give importance to the numbers, be it my 100th film or 150th. I work towards making the film a success and see to its 100 day run more than anything. That gives me more satisfaction,” says actor Vijayakanth at the music release of his 150th starrer, Arasangam.

The Arasangam movie is produced by L K Sudheesh and directed by R Madhesh. The actor-turned politician who has turned the tables in the last general election in Tamil Nadu politics by cornering about 10 per cent votes says that though the title is about governance, it is not a political film.

“Arasangam is a fast-paced entertainer with stunning visuals. It is about an investigation and I play a police officer. The police is also part of the governance, hence the title. The investigation leads into a series of interesting situations on the problems faced by the commoner in the country. I cannot reveal the subject. But it is basically a crime and suspense thriller which is contemporary and youthful. ”

Techno-savvy director Madhesh says that it was a pleasure to work with Vijayakanth who is an enthusiastic actor. “The veteran of 150 films treats each film as his first. We shot for 30 days in Canada when he was suffering with cold and fever. He dared the chilly weather and without a break, shot for the film. Such is his dedication.”

Producer-director Ramanarayanan released the music composed by Srikanth Deva and it was received by K Srinivasan of Pyramid Saimira.
