Akhil speaks Chennai Slang in Valmiki

Its not a uncommon thing in Kollywood for the actors to go a long way to make their roles perfect in movies. Its not only the seasoned actors who train for their movies, but the new actors entering the industry also are taking extra efforts to portray their roles to perfection.

The same is the case with Akhil of Kalloori fame who plays a jobless youth in Chennai in his next film Valmiki. Just as he had practised to play the role of an athelete to perfection in Kalloori, the star is now taking the time to learn Chennai Tamizh to ensure his performance in Valmiki is upto the mark. The actor, who hails from Dindugal in the state, says he went around the city for almost ten days speaking to auto drivers and those from the slums to pick up Tamil words used by those in the City.

Akhil, who made a dream debut in Balaji Sakthivel’s Kaloori is the hero of the next upcomming movie Valmiki for Media Company Ananda Vikatan. The film will be directed by Anantha Narayanan. The movie will have music by maestro Ilayaraja. Meera Nandan is the new Malayalee girl is making her debut as the heroine for Akhil in this movie.
