The big summer 2007 film Spider-Man 3 was premiered in Chennai on Thursday (May 3) night at the newly refurbished Sathyam big screen. The entire complex was wrapped up in a spider web creating the right atmosphere and buzz around the product.The red carpet was rolled out for the occasion; Kamal Hassan came as the titles started rolling with Gowthami and his daughters Sruthi and Akshara. He preferred to sit in a corner avoiding being mobbed and left just as the climax fight was going on.

 

 

Birthday girl Trisha (by interval around mid-night, everybody wished her in unison) flew in from Hyderabad where she had gone for the success meet of her Telugu hit AMAV, was casually dressed in jeans and a stylish denim jacket.

Then there was Sundar.C, his beautiful wife Kushboo and their two daughters, cameraman turned director Jeeva and his wife costume designer Aneez and family, Prakash Raj sitting in the back with his family, Meera Vasudev, the SS Music VJ’s Craig, Carrey, Pooja, Paloma, and Lekha were also there. TV star Vijay Adiraj and his wife was also present.

However the cynosure of all eyes were the bachelor boys- Paruthiveeran Karthi looking sexy minus his beard, Simbu in his new Kaalai look, Narain, Srikanth looking thin in a black outfit. There was a sprinkling of bureaucrats and city police commissioner Latika Saran, with their families.

The Reddy’s of Sathyam Cinemas- Kiran and Swaroop made it memorable with their lavish hospitality. The top bosses of Sony Pictures India –Uday Singh and Vikramjit Roy flew in from Mumbai for the occasion and were there to personally usher in the celebrities.

Thank You Spider-Man for a great film, and an enjoyable night out at the movies.
