Director Selvaraghavan

Selvaraghavan is one of the India’s emerging prolific film director whose roots are from the southern part of India. He is the son of an ace film director Kastoori Raja. He shot to fame in his debut venture Thuluvatho Illamai, a movie about adolescent gags and teenage capers. His next movie Kadhal Kondein won both box office and critical applause. His directorial skills were appreciated by most of the India’s leading directors and people concerning cinema. Then the year 2005 witnessed one of a classic movies of recent times 7G Rainbow Colony.

‘Aadavari Maatalukku Arthaley Verule’ is the first Telugu film Selvaraghavan directed. It stars Venkatesh, Trisha and Srikanth. The film was released last week. It got an average reception. Since Dhanush and Nayantara are acting in the Tamil re-make titled ‘Yaradi Nee Mohini,’ they saw the film in the theatre. Dhanush’s wife Ishwarya was with them.

Selvaraghavan is directing 2 films now. One is ‘Idhu Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam’ featuring Karthi and Sandhya. The other is the Hindi re-make of ‘7G Rainbow Colony.’ When ‘7G Rainbow Colony’ was released, many approached Selvaraghavan for re-making it in Hindi. One of them was Boney Kapoor. It is said he is the producer of the Hindi version and Salman Khan is to play the hero.

One thing is for sure. That Selvaraghavan is directing the Hindi version of ‘7G Rainbow Colony.’ Everything else is conjecture. There has been no announcement by Selvaraghavan about who the stars and technicians of the film are. He also did not say if the Tamil or Hindi film comes first.
