Kamal’s ‘Dasavatharam’ bigger than Rajini’s ‘Sivaji’?
Anything with Kamal Hassan has to be big. This is in fact evident with Kamal’s latest venture ‘Dasavatharam’ with him donning 10 different roles in that movie.
The movie is being touted as the biggest budget movie ever in the history of South cinema. The budget is estimated around whopping Rs 70 crores!
The movie is being produced by Oscar Ravichandran, who declares that the movie has so far exceeded Rs 55 crores and 15 crores more is needed to finish the project. It is reported that the movie has a ‘Tsunami’ scene which is being done by the same crew from the Titanic. The movie also features Kamal Hassan playing the role as the President of United States. The others nine roles that Kamal is potraying are relatively less significant.
Despite the very high budget, the producer is very confident that the movie will not only break even but also fetch good profits for the buyers.
Whether this is true or not, but the timing and budget claims of ‘Dasavathaaram’ seems to have something to do with Rajinikanth’s upcoming film ‘Sivaji’, which itself is considered the biggest budget movie in South, making business well over Rs 70 crores.
This is certainly a clash of the titans. Who wins who loses, time will tell.
