Sivaji disappointed me: Simbu

In an interview to a magazine recently, actor Simbu seems to have poured his heart out. But first things first. When he was asked about title to his film Kettavan, especially when the state government had ordered that titles which hurt the sentiments of the people should be avoided.
He said that it should be taken as a person who is jilted in love, colloquially meaning “nambi kettavan†in the local language and not as a “baddie†as it is misinterpreted to be. Divulging more on the film, Simbu went on that there is a vast variation between a man and woman’s love failure and should be viewed from a different dimension altogether. When a straight-forward was hurled at him – whether it is a real life love story between him and Nayantara – his answer was a quick: No.
From thereon, the interview moved to the punch dialogue controversy in Sivaji. Still ruing over it, the actor stated that he considers Rajini as an icon and had grown seeing his films. With Rajini being the style guru of the film industry, it’s quite natural that an inkling of his style to be seen in every actors’ performance, as this living legend has not left anything for the others to do. The fact that it happened with the superstar’s movie seems to have rubbed salt over the wound, for the actor lamented: “It is indeed hurting that a person whom we all consider as our forerunner has made fun of us.†But this did not seem to have deterred from watching the movie, as Simbu discloses that he hits the theatres whenever he finds time to watch and enjoy the movie as one among the fans. A true fan indeed!
